Its Monday the 25th of February 2013! What are you reading?

It's Monday! What are You Reading! is a weekly hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey. This weekly is meant to keep you people updated on what I read the last week and what I am planning to read the upcoming week.

I finished the last book in my Harry Potter re-read this week. I had a great time reading all the books again ad I do not think I would mind if I started reading them again tomorrow. I still found so many new things I missed out on the last time I read them and sometimes even forgot that I already knew how things would end.

For the upcoming week I have several books lined up. I started reading The Grimm Chronicles. This is for a blog tour and the stop at my blog is next week on the 5th of March. It is a very entertaining read about fairy tales. It makes me realize how long ago it was since I last read them. My mum was never big on fairy tales cause she feels that they are all lies. There is no such thing as happily ever after according to her and you have to work for that no matter what. As you can guess she never read us fairy tales when we where kids so I only got introduces to few of them when I grew older. It is funny to read them now and consider my mums point of view on them. I must admit I do share her opinion a bit.

The rest of the week I am planning to finally read The Jelly Bean Crisis. I am really looking forward to this book for some time already and even though I had some other books that have been on my to be read shelf for a longer time I just really want to read this one. I have been secretly reading a few pages on a book I got trough Netgalley and that made me laugh from the moment I saw it. It is called Death, the Devil and the Goldfish and just check out that cover... and yes it is actually as weird as it sounds and it is a great laugh. I am really looking forward to finish the rest of the book.

I re-read the HP books a couple of years ago and I agree, they never stop being fun and so readable no matter how many times you read them, and there's so much going on in the them!

I always liked the fairy tales that weren't about happy endings but were warnings or messages, like Little Red Riding Hood etc. I couldn't always see what they were trying to say - I think we've lost the ability to read those kinds of stories the way they were meant to be read. I never read many though, as a kid, only the same ones over and over again. I got Philip Pullman's Grimm Tales collection recently and I'm keen to give that a go.

I've never read harry potter books but I like that you have the covers in dutch! I just finished reading the Grimm Chronicles for my stop Feb 28. I hadn't read all of the stories either but the book is really cool. I can't wait to start the second volume, I also joined for a review next month so that's great because I get to read it soon!
Have fun reading!
I'm Rivie and I just saw your blog on the tour dates. I came because I saw it was from the netherlands!
