Train on Thursday: Family Ties, Danielle Steel

I travel with public transport on regular base. One of my favourite past times when in bus or train besides reading is checking out what other people read. I usually look these books up (especially when someone is so hooked they don't notice me checking them out) to see if they would be something for me. In this weekly I will introduce you to the books I spotted while travelling.
If you want to join in this weekly feel free to write your own post on the books you spot. That can be anywhere, in the park, on the street, in line at the book store / library. There is a linky in the bottom to link up your post or you can leave a comment!

Family ties Danielle Steel cover
Annie Ferguson was a bright young Manhattan architect. Talented, beautiful, just starting out with her first job, new apartment and boyfriend, she had the world in the palm of her hand--until a single phone call altered the course of her life forever. Overnight, she became the mother to her sister's three orphaned children, keeping a promise she never regretted making, even if it meant putting her own life indefinitely on hold.
Now, at forty-two, as independent as ever, with a satisfying career and a family that means everything to her, Annie is comfortable being single and staying that way. She appears to have no time for anything else. With her nephew and nieces now young adults and confronting major challenges of their own, Annie is navigating a parent's difficult passage between lending them a hand and letting go, and suddenly facing an empty nest. The eldest, twenty-eight-year-old Liz, an overworked, struggling editor in a high-powered job at Vogue, has never allowed any man to come close enough to hurt her. Ted, at twenty-four a serious and hardworking law student, is captivated by a much older, much more experienced woman with children, who is leading him much further than he wants to go. And the youngest, twenty-one-year-old Katie--impulsive, artistic, rebellious--is an art student about to make a choice that will lead her to an entirely different world she is in no way prepared for but determined to embrace.
Then, just when least expected, a chance encounter changes Annie's life yet again in the most unexpected direction of all.

I spotted the girl on the station and she got on the same train. We had to stand because there was not enough space to sit and she tried to flip the pages with one hand which did not work so the book dropped.
I cannot remember reading a book by Danielle Steel, I did watch some of those films though when I was younger. I guess the books do make nice reading material, predictable and cosy. I guess I would buy one of her books when I would be without a book and did not have that much to choose from.

Great weekly! I've read one Danielle Steel a few years ago, but I didn't really like it unfortunately

I completely understand checking out what other people are reading! I tend to wander over to people's bookshelves when I'm in a new house and I once get in a long conversation with a nurse at my OB about books. You have to do something when getting all that blood drawn, right? :)

I like this weekly! I haven't read any Danielle Steel since "Vanished" - I think I must reread that one, because I really liked it. PS: Totally unrelated, but I like the colour of those eggs on the cover of the book. I have like 2 or 3 nail polish colours like that :)
