I put op the Christmas tree this weekend. We have been having this terrible grey weather for months now and I felt like putting up the tree for a month and a half already. As we have Sinterklaas on the 5th of December (check out this great guest post Wendy wrote over at The Book Wheel) I cannot put it up before but this weekend I finally made my home all Christmassy. I have been struggling a bit with my reading. I guess I have too much to read and too many books I want to read and end up picking the ones I should read first which might not be the books my subconscious wants to read. But as long as there is not a clear signal when I stand in front of my shelves I will go on picking up the books I need to read for review first.
Last week I finished Is This Tomorrow by Caroline Leavitt, Raveled by Anne McAneny and I gave up on The Troop by Nick Cutter.
I am currently reading Becoming Josephine by Heather Webb
Next up are Mayhem by Sarah Pinborough and Perfect by Rachel Joyce

ReplyThe Troop was really good, IMO, a mix of Lord of the Flies meets that Guillermo DelToro series 'The Strain.'
I read The Troop recently and didn't like it. I had thought about just giving up on it but soldiered through it, though I almost wish I hadn't.
ReplyI'm interested to know what you'll think of Perfect. It's rather different from her other book. I enjoyed it.

ReplyI'd love to hear what you thought of the Caroline Leavitt book -- I liked her previous novel, with a few minor hesitations. I have Perfect coming up as well! I really enjoyed Rachel Joyce's last book, so I'm excited about this one too. Happy reading!
