Dewey's #Readathon Updates

readathon button
As you can read in my preparation post I am having some wild plans for the upcoming 24 hours.

In this post I will try and manage to keep you informed about my progress.
Starting of with a little introduction for the read-a-thonners passing by on my blog

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I am reading from my couch located in the center of the Netherlands.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
There are so many books but I really want to read The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Actually it is not a snack I am looking forward too. I am going to check my chicken allergy today and I love chicken. This means for diner I got nice drumsticks and I am really looking forward.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I love binturongs, they smell like popcorn.. talking about popcorn...
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I never participated this is my first time and I am really excited to join.

Starting Line:
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philipa Gregory

Minichallenge #2
I participated in the Book Spine Poetry minichallenge

Update after 2 hours
Keep getting disturbed only read 50 pages so far. Will have to start dinner soon too.

Update after 5 hours
Had dinner and did the dishes. Read another 60 pages and still have 40 to go before I finish the book.

Update after 6 hours
Finished The Other Boleyn Girl am moving on to Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham.
Read 147 pages

Update after 8 hours
Had some snacks and reading Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham. It is a nice read for a read-a-thon. Not to complicated but interesting enough!

Update after 10 hours
Twitter is distracting me but I like to check all the pictures, updates and books people talk about. Read 122 pages from Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham. It is a nice light read to get me trough a big part of the night (it is midnight here and dark).

Update after 16.5 hours
The other half went to bed at hour 10.5 of the readathon. While preparing he walked by and realised I was planning on letting him sleep alone in that big bed. He made a proposal that I could continue reading in bed so I went with him. After reading for another hour he still was not asleep and I turned of the book and the light and slept for 4.5 hours when I just got woken up by the birds outside. So here we are fresh and with a nice cup of tea. Planning to finish up Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham and go for The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.

Update after 18 hours
Turned of the computer and made some nice progress. Still working on  Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham

Update after 19 hours

Update after 21 hours (and a bit)
Just finished Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham and going to start The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.
Total pages read 499

Update after 23 hours
The last hour has arrived  and I am going to try and finish The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. I am halfway so I should be able to manage that. See you back in an hour.

Sorry to hear that the chicken isn't working out so well for your body. I do hope you get a change to read The Invention of Hugo Cabret--I thought it was a wonderful book (loved the movie, too). I have his next book on my shelf right now.

I'm doing more cheering than reading today, but if you want to stop by I am at http://worducopia.blogspot.com.

You're doing well - except for that chicken!

I'm too distracted too. Awful. But fun at the same time. Hope you can keep going for a bit still. It's almost bed time for me.

Nice progress! I'll have to look out for Someday Someday Maybe. Shame about the chicken - is it an animal fat thing? I find I have to stick to breast meat. :)

Sounds like you had a great readathon! Did you like The Invention of Hugo Cabret? My daughter read and reviewed that one for me last year and really liked it, though I haven't read it myself yet. I would like to check out the Lauren Graham book, too!
