Wishlist Wednesday: The Spirit of Nora, Lyle Scott Lee

Wishlist Wednesday is a weeklies hosted by Pen to Paper. As I have enough wishes when it comes to books I decided to join this weekly and tell you about them. I am obviously curious about the books on your wishlist too so feel free to leave a message.

The Spirit of Nora Lyle Scott Lee
Leaving her home on the farm with her childhood friend Ella for nursing training in New York, Nora enters a changing world. After befriending two doctors on the train east, Nora and Ella spend many evenings with Tristan and Soren. But a terrible tragedy pulls Ella from Nora, who eventually travels farther east, searching for redemption for failing her friend.

Nora becomes wrapped up in the permissive lifestyle of French artists, embracing relationships with the lively Cassandra and talented Auguste. While in France, she is confronted with physical temptations and spiritual uncertainty until she learns of the communal setting established on the estate of the Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy. The Spirit of Nora needs further nourishment for her wavering faith, and she continues yet farther east to Yasnaya Polyana to work with Tolstoy's translator. Through the following years Nora learns of hardship, love, war, and the difficulties in finding balance between right and wrong. Ultimately, she must come face to face with the legacy of her lost friend.

This is one of those books I put on my shelf more than a year ago and I keep coming back to it. If it is recommended on Kobo I come back here to add it to my shelf. If I see it on a blog I come back here. Obviously only to find out it has been there for a long time already. Walking trough my shelf on Goodreads seeing this book I decided it deserved a bit more attention so here it is.
What pulls me most in this book is the combination of cultures that I suppose will be touched in this book. From a farm to New York, France and Russia I am very curious.
