Wishlist Wednesday: The Woman Who Went to Bed for a Year, Sue Townsend

Wishlist Wednesday is a weeklies hosted by Pen to Paper. As I have enough wishes when it comes to books I decided to join this weekly and tell you about them. I am obviously curious about the books on your wishlist too so feel free to leave a message.

The day her children leave home, Eva climbs into bed and stays there. She's had enough - of her kids' carelessness, her husband's thoughtlessness and of the world's general indifference. Eva's refusal to behave like a dutiful wife and mother soon upsets everyone but she insists on staying in bed. And then the strangest things start to happen.

So yes this book caught my eye for ALL the wrong reasons... *cough*bed*cough*.The story actually sounds funny when you get over the fact it says bed in the title. After I tried to imagine what it would be like to just give in an go to bed and simply not come out. It made me wonder if she comes out to take showers or get things just for herself. So now I am curious...

The synopsis has me really intrigued. I wonder do they get their act together :)

I've heard about the author, but not about the book. Seems like a fun read!

Hope you get it soon!

Oh, I haven't read anything by Sue Townsend anymore since I was a teen and she debuted with The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, aged 13¾. I remembered I liked her writing style so I will definitely look for this one. I hope you get to read it soon.

My WW can be found on Le Chat de Bibliothèque.

I really like the sound of this one! Who hasn't wanted to get into bed and just stay there? :)
