Top Ten Tuesday: Scary book covers

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly hosted by The Broke and Bookish. Every week the girls from the Broke and
Bookish come up with a subject and I will try to find 10 results combined with that weeks topic.

This weeks topic is scary book covers. I love scary books and book covers. I almost ended up only putting covers from Stephen King and Neil Gaiman on this post but decided to put a bit more effort in this post. I can hardly wait to visit all the other posts!!

NOS4R2 Joe Hill
I got this version of the book on purpose. I love the cover with the nice green colour and the car with the not so clear person coming straight at me.
Childs Play
Chucky still gives me nightmares. I am not even sure I would read the book or would be able to hold it for that matter. When I saw they made books on it with covers like that I knew it belonged in this post.
IT Stephen King
My Pennywise nightmares are a returning topic. I loved the book but got totally scared of by the movie. This cover with Pennywise on it pulling that face scares me still.

The Neighbors, Ania Ahlborn
This cover is a bit more subtle but having a teapot with a drop of blood hanging on it combined with the title is asking for problems.
The Hangmans Daughter Oliver Potzsch
This cover gives you some falls impressions and I love it for that one already. The dangling feet combined with the title. I love the font in this cover too
Locke and Key Joe Hill
Mystery mansions are always a save choice when you want to make a cover scary in my opinion.
The Tale of Raw Head and Bloody Bones Jack Wolf
This cover screams mystery. The dark figure on the horse. Combined with the title this cover gave me the creeps.
The Never List, Koethi Zan
Ow fog and tress and a lonely house with just one light in the attic. Lights in the attic are never good!
The Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman
Gaiman's books have some great variety in covers too from innocent looking to very scary. I had a hard time picking one though but I think I like this one best. Owen walking on a bloody knife.
The Replacement Brenna Yovanoff
I choose this one because it is so wrong. All these murder weapons and weird things hanging above that baby carriage.

Awesome spooky list! I went with It and The Replacement too -- and your NOS4A2 is so perfect (I wish I had the green cover too!). These are all great choices (love Locke & Key) -- perfect!!

Agreed with your take on the cover for the Neighbors. That cover always kind of grossed me out. Very creepy. Very effective.

Child's Play! EWWWW. That movie always freaks me out more than it should. haha. I have always thought The Replacements was super creepy too so I'm glad I'm seeing it on other people's lists. I still need to read it though!

That is a very creepy cover for The Graveyard Book, I haven't seen that edition! And I've been meaning to read The Hangman's Daughter, it sounds very interesting :)

SCREAMING BECAUSE IT.

That book was legitimately terrifying for me, I have no idea what possessed me to read it when I did. I ended up locking it in my closet for like 2 days and was too scared to go in hahaha. And Chucky!! Another childhood memory (good times) but I think I was too busy laughing at how scared my sister was to really fear it myself. Still, the cover is super super scary!! Awesome list, Ciska, thanks for sharing! <3

What terrifying covers, Ciska!
I agree the last one is so wrong, and I don't want to look at the Chucky's one for so long :P Sometimes a cover like that prevents me from buying the book!
